A FATHER-OF-TWO who helped raid a garage for a £2,500 scooter walked free from court yesterday.
Newcastle Crown Court heard how Stephen Carr, 31, kept watch while two other people used bolt croppers to cut through security chains.
Newcastle Crown Court heard how the raid was foiled when a neighbour at Ferndale Avenue, East Boldon, South Tyneside, noticed the men acting suspiciously.
When Carr's home at Hedley Terrace, South Hetton, in County Durham, was searched, a receipt for the bolt croppers was found.
Judge Maurice Carr sentenced him to an electronically monitored 7pm to 7am curfew for three months. And he warned: "If you breach that order, I will lock you up."
