VOLUNTEERS have donated £2,000 to help benefit hospital patients.
The money, raised by volunteers who run the shop and trolley service at the Friarage Hospital, in Northallerton, has been used to buy a Dinamap monitor.
The machine will allow the close monitoring of patients' blood pressure, pulse and temperature, especially after they have had an operation.
Earlier this week, volunteers Janice and Terry Wake and shop manager Norena Backhouse attended an presentation with ward manager Helen Tyler.
Ms Tyler said: "We would like to express our appreciation to the shop and trolley service and their volunteers for providing this machine which will help us care for future patients on the ward."
The volunteers ensure that patients, staff and visitors can enjoy snacks, drinks and newspapers.
