TWO women have come forward following a police appeal for help to identify a man's body.
The women, from Darlington, contacted detectives after the body of a 67-year-old was found in a council-owned flat in Whessoe Road, in the town, on May 26.
Police believe the body is that of Maurice Alex Kinney, who lived at the premises, but they had been unable to trace relatives to confirm his identity.
Mr Kinney, who was said to be a recluse, had not been seen by neighbours for several days before the body was found.
Police said a formal identification will take place soon.
