A LITTLE Chef restaurant in the region has been chosen to test pilot a major investment.
The motorway restaurant chain has chosen its outlet on the A168 at Thirsk as the testing pad for what could lead to a multi-million pound refurbishment programme for the brand.
Bosses in London say it is because the North Yorkshire Little Chef's customers are very discerning.
New owner Permira is using the restaurant for trials of its new menu, which will include some of Little Chef's favourite meals from years gone by.
The new menu will also include Harry Ramsden's fish and chips, while home-made pancakes and Italian stone-baked pizzas will make a comeback.
Spokesman Ben Forbes said "We want a small trial with the menu before going live across the country."
The company is to spend several thousand pounds refurbishing the Thirsk restaurant, starting next month.
