A SCHOOL has rounded off a successful year by being recognised for its commitment to staff.
Browney Primary School, in Durham, has won an Investors in People award after demonstrating its training and development opportunities.
The recognition is the latest in a string of successes for the school, which achieved an Artsmark silver award last Spring and a glowing Ofsted report highlighting its strong leadership and successful teamwork.
Headteacher Sarah Taylor said: "At Browney Primary School, we are fully committed to developing the skills and knowledge of our staff to achieve our ultimate aim of providing a sound, well-balanced and exciting environment in which our children can learn and grow to their fullest potential.
"We have a thorough, active training and development programme, which we use effectively to enable our staff to flourish, and we will continue to invest in all the people involved with our school."
The Investors in People award is based on four key principles - commitment to developing employees to achieve business goals and targets, planning to review training and development needs, action to ensure relevant steps are taken to meet training and development needs, and evaluation to measure the outcomes of training and development.
