Durham Coast League: There is a double programme during the weekend which gives Hylton the opportunity to topple Murton. Other sides though are too far adrift of the leaders to have a realistic chance of moving into pole position.
Murton begin with the short journey to Dawdon and tomorrow host Bill Quay. Their only absentee is all-rounder Dean King.
Hylton, who together with Murton and Ryhope, are unbeaten, trail Murton by just nine points with 40 points at stake in the two games.
The Wearsiders are at Bill Quay today before hosting Peterlee and like Murton, they show just one alteration. Shaun Robinson cannot turn out.
Ryhope have assembled a strong squad but have managed only two wins in six attempts and are 27 points behind Murton. Today they are at Castle Eden and tomorrow Boldon CA are the visitors.
John Errington returns from injury and Dan Pearson is promoted from the second XI with neither John Minnis nor Kris Taylor available.
Boldon CA's U13 side will be at the Riverside today where they will play during the interval of the Test match. It is a reward for their participation in an indoor eight-a-side competition which the county club organised during the winter.
"We are taking ten youngsters down to the ground. It is a marvellous opportunity for them to participate during the luncheon interval of the first ever Test match to be staged in the North-East," said secretary Gloria Bellerby.
Afterwards, Boldon CA play the first of their two games at home to Houghton when Tony Middleton and John Moffat come in for Tony Lincoln and David Jones. Tomorrow, Boldon are hosted by Ryhope, when Ian and Karl Bellerby line up in the side captained by Gary Lincoln. His son Tony, however, is not able to play.
Silksworth meet Peterlee and Dawdon. A blow to their chances is the absence of Graeme Weeks, but Phil Smailes returns and Anthony Bell moves up from the second XI.
Easington make a number of changes for matches against Seaham Park and Houghton. Out go Colin Craggs, Mark Race, Stephen Briggs and Russell Tarn. David Tarn and Peter Booth are named alongside Michael Stubbs.
After finishing runners-up last season Peterlee have managed just one win to date. They face a difficult task at home to Silksworth and at Hylton tomorrow.
Bottom-of-the-table Houghton challenge Boldon CA and Easington. Des Pratt and Ryan Furnival take over from Andrew Beston and Paul Elliott. Tomorrow Elliott, Mark Lovett and Martin Cowey come in.
Seaham Park are second from the basement and expect to field a full strength line-up for their two games with Easington and Castle Eden.
Neighbours Dawdon are missing Neville Gustard for the matches with Murton and Silksworth.
Paul Bentham, Chris Little and Michael Towns line up for Bill Quay, for the double with Hylton and Murton.
