CATERING students helped a charity birthday party by baking two huge cakes.
Aspiring bakers from Middlesbrough College made the 4ft by 2ft cakes to celebrate the 21st anniversary celebration of Teesside Hospice.
The first cake was taken to the Cleveland Centre, in Middlesbrough, yesterday, and the second will arrive at the complex today.
Shoppers will be asked for a donation in return for a slice of cake.
They will also be able to view the History of the Hospice exhibition, which is on display in the centre.
To celebrate the anniversary, Albert Park, in Middlesbrough, will be the venue for a fun day tomorrow, from 10.30am.
Events on the day will include a teddy bears picnic and a surprise guest.
There will also be a gentle one-mile sponsored Sunflower Stroll, during which participants will attempt to find 21 concealed sunflowers.
Anyone wanting to enter a balloon race, which offers the chance of winning a signed Middlesbrough football shirt, can complete a race label and make a donation to the hospice. For a label, call (01642) 355866.
