A NORTH-East post office was closed yesterday for security reasons.
Darlington's main post office, in Crown Street, remained closed all day due to technical difficulties. It is understood the problems were connected with the post office safe. Customers were advised to use other offices in Victoria Road and Greenbank post office, in Salisbury Terrace, while work was carried out to correct the problem.
A spokesman for Post Offices Ltd said:"We would like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused."
The central office will open as normal today.
