A HOSPITAL chief said last night he was disappointed at national media reports that a North-East hospital was "disgusting".
John Saxby, chief executive of County Durham and Darlington NHS Trust, spoke out in response to a report by a national newspaper that a basement corridor running beneath Darlington Memorial Hospital was unclean.
Mr Saxby said: "I am extremely disappointed by the article, which bore no resemblance to the hospital I have worked in for the past ten years.
"I would welcome the opportunity of showing anyone around the site so you can judge for yourselves."
