Bedale Under-11s completed a very successful season by becoming the Richmond and District League champions.
They finished the season as undefeated champions, managing to win all but four of their 18 league games and drawing the remainder.
With a goal tally of 59 for and only 11 against the team won the league some 11 points ahead of their nearest rivals and were on top all season and despite drawing four of their last five games, continued to keep well ahead of the following pack.
Ably managed by Andy Dobson and coached by Grahame Shepherd, Rich Hemmingway and Brian Sharpe, the team was able to complete a League and Cup double by defeating Northallerton 2-1 in the final of the Peter Cole Trophy.
The season was wrapped up by an appearance in the final of the Wigginton Grasshoppers Under-11 six-a-side competition by one of the two Bedale teams entered.
The Bedale side were well beaten by a strong team from Mount Pleasant Rangers but the boys were a great credit to the club having beaten some strong opposition from teams from throughout the North-East and Yorkshire.
The boys now look forward to receiving their League Championship trophies at the club presentation day to be held in June.
All of the squad would particularly like to say a big thank you to all of their families for the fantastic support given throughout the season. Come rain or shine the encouragement has been brilliant.
