ENVIRONMENTALISTS carried out a count of rare orchids at the weekend.
The study at the Whinnies local nature reserve, near Middleton St George, Darlington, was conducted to help build biodiversity records and plan management of the area.
Members of Darlington council's countryside team and local volunteers helped with the count on Saturday.
