GENERATOR, tools and rolls of lead have been stolen on different nights from the site of a surgery nearing completion in Gainford, near Darlington.
Local people and motorists are being asked to report anything suspicious around the building, which is on the site of a former filling station to police on (01833) 637328.

CASH LIFT: A presentation dinner was held at the Freemasons' Hall, Darlington, when £6,000 was presented to local charities and community groups, including Breast Cancer Research, Cancer Relief, Cockerton Band, Darlington Carers, Darlington and District MS Society, Darlington Samaritans and the North East Air Ambulance.
POST APPEAL: Girls in the Brownie pack at Gainford are collecting used postage stamps to help pay for a guide dog for the blind. Anyone wishing to help their efforts can leave used stamps at the village shop.
