Darlington Building Society is proving that the number 13 is not unlucky for some as it continues to break local records as the longest serving sponsor of local cricket.
This will be the 13th consecutive season that Darlington Building Society has sponsored the North Yorkshire and South Durham Premier Cricket League cementing its position as the number one supporter of local sport.
The NYSD Premier League consists of 25 teams based throughout the region from Barnard Castle to Redcar with many towns fielding a team also boasting a branch of Darlington Building Society.
Ken Gardiner, in his last season as President of the NYSD Premier League said: "Darlington Building Society's support has been instrumental in the growing success of the league.
"Such sustained and enthusiastic support is rarely seen in the world of cricket and I hope this record breaking relationship will be maintained for years to come."
David Copland, Marketing and Communications Manager at Darlington Building Society, said: "For the past 12 seasons we have watched and enjoyed the continued success of the NYSD Cricket League.
"The standard of cricket played throughout the league is of the highest standard and this was aptly reflected in the league's decision to add the word Premier to its name last year.
"Darlington Building Society is dedicated to looking after local interests and we feel this includes the support of local sport. We are delighted with our association with the NYSD Premier Cricket League and we look forward to another exciting season with huge anticipation."
