Slazenger Harrogate and District League: Thirsk edged home to a narrow win that put them on top of Division One.
Their 5-4 victory against Harrogate Spa meant Thirsk took over the leadership ahead of Harrogate Racquets on rubbers. Both sides have six points, Racquets having played a match more than Thirsk.
Fielding their strongest side Thirsk lost the first string clash when Andrew Parry and Carol Collinson went down to Chris Dight and Spa debutant Kim Johnson 5-6, 2-6. But two victories by the Parry-Collinson combination proved vital.
Despite finishing on the losing side Johnson made her mark with two outright wins and one clash that was halved in partnership with Dight.

Harrogate Racquets first team were given a scare by their second stringers, the A side going down 5-4 in a tight match.

Simon Iles and Sarah Jackson beat Tindall and Rhodes 6-4; halved with Crowther and Edwards 6-5, 2-6; lost to Reddish and Brown 5-6, 2-6.
Ripon won the top of the table clash in Division Three, beating Thirsk A 7-2 away to go top.
Ripon's progress has been boosted by the arrival of promising junior Laura Gilbert, who previously played for Boroughbridge.
The partnership of Gilbert and Chris Fox netted a trio of victories for the Ripon side. And the pair did not drop a set.
