SOCIAL services staff from across North Yorkshire were yesterday presented with awards for their efforts and successes over the past year.
More than 100 people, who have gained nationally-recognised qualifications at a variety of levels, celebrated their achievements at County Hall, Northallerton.
The awards were presented by executive members for social services, Councillors Murray Naylor and Caroline Patmore, and the director of social services for North Yorkshire, Rosemary Archer.
Coun Naylor said: "People need the highest quality services and we can make sure they get the best by having staff who are well trained and competent in their work."
The staff support a vast number of people in their homes, day centres and residential establishments across North Yorkshire.
Mrs Archer said: "I am extremely proud of the dedication and commitment of staff in achieving these awards and appreciate the hard work which has been put into achieving such successful results."
