A BOGUS caller claiming to be a TV licence inspector made off with cash after talking his way into a house.
The man called at a home in St Oswins Place, Blackhill, Consett, on Tuesday, June 3, at about 8.45pm and asked to see the occupant's TV licence.
While the woman went to fetch the document, he stole cash from a vase in the living room, then left.
He is described as white, about 5ft 9ins, aged 40 to 50, of plump build, clean shaven and was wearing a white shirt and black leather gloves.
Anyone with information is asked to call (01207) 504204.
