HARRY Potter fans can spend a magical night counting down the minutes until they hold JK Rowling's latest release.
The air of excitement surrounding the launch of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has cast a spell on staff at White Rose Books in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, and they have decided to keep the store open late on Friday, June 20.
The shop is holding a Potter Party from 10.30pm on the Friday until 1am on the Saturday, to ensure that fans get a chance to read the book.
With quizzes, competitions and a fancy dress theme, fans of all ages are expected to join in the fun and frenzy as the fifth book in the Potter series is released at a minute past midnight.
Everyone attending will receive a Potter Party Pass. This contains a secret password enabling visitors to take advantage of exclusive offers on the night and chances to win Potter Prizes, which will be presented by Professor Dumbledore.
Sue Lake, the owner of White Rose Books, said: "Our Potter Party is set to be bigger than New Year's Eve.
"All the staff are excitedly discussing their outfits for the evening.
"Anyone who wants to beat their friends to have a copy of the book should come and join in the fun."
