WORRIED Cameroon star Geremi last night urged Middlesbrough to end his Real Madrid nightmare.
The skilful African enjoyed a successful nine month loan spell on Teesside but has since returned to the Spanish giants and is waiting to see whether both clubs can reach a compromise over a transfer fee.
Earlier this week Geremi had resigned himself to the fact his wish of returning to Boro in August was unlikely to be fulfilled.
However, the 24-year-old, currently away with his country preparing for the up-coming Confederations Cup, has now decided to take matters in into his own hands and voice his frustrations by issuing a 'play me or sell me' ultimatum to his employers.
"I was on loan at Middlesbrough and I enjoyed my spell there," he said. "Of course I have to go back to Real Madrid but they know what I think. If they want me back I have to play regular first team football.
"My decision to leave them was because they would not play me enough and nothing has changed since then. If I was given the chance to stay at Boro? Why not?"
Geremi had to be farmed out on loan to Boro last season because no potential buyer could come up with the fee being asked by Real a year ago.
Chelsea were keen to add the player to their ranks but they could not afford to pay the £7.8m asking price.
And now, after Geremi made such an impact in the Premiership, Real have upped their asking price to almost £10m.
Boro boss Steve McClaren is not prepared to go anywhere near that figure and negotiations have currently hit a stalemate.
Manchester City and Turkish giants Fenerbahce are all thought to be monitoring events - but both are also unwilling to pay the asking price.
