BURGLARS took money and goods worth hundreds of pounds after two raids on a village in the same night.
The gang broke into a garaged at the charity-run Leadgate Community Tea Rooms, in Leadgate, near Consett, overnight on Monday.
They stole a petrol lawnmower, strimmer, power washer and steamer.
Police believe the same raiders broke into the Golden Lion pub and stole an unknown amount of money from two fruit machines.
PC Graeme Whitfield, of Consett police, said: "We are probably looking at the same people for both break-ins.
"The burglary at the Tea Rooms was particularly unpleasant, as it is a charity and they had worked hard to raise the money to buy all those goods."
