THERE will be six fresh faces at a Northallerton nursery when it opens on a new site later this month.

To mark the Looby Lou day nursery's relocation to premises in Finkills Way, members of staff and one of the children's parents have helped to create a colourful mosaic.

The work of art has taken three weeks to complete and features six faces, including an Indian boy and a Chinese girl, as well as the nursery's balloon logo and a rainbow.

Nursery director Audrey Patterson said staff wanted something special for the new premises and sought advice from Rural Arts in Thirsk.

"We are so pleased with the outcome. The mosaic is beautiful and will look fabulous in its new home," she said.

Mrs Patterson helped to make the mosaic with members of staff Emma Stockill, Sarah Ridley, Sarah Robinson, Rachel Brown and Georgina Brown and parent Keeley Ungerechts.

Louby Lou's is holding a gala day at the new nursery to celebrate its opening on Saturday, June 28. Everyone is welcome at the event between 12 and 4pm.
