WORK by glass and ceramics graduates is being showcased in an exhibition this month.

The National Glass Centre, in Sunderland, is collaborating with the University of Sunderland to stage Fused and Fired, by this year's graduates from the glass, architectural glass and ceramics department.

It draws on an eclectic mix of influences, including the human body, nature and different cultures from around the world.

Entry to the exhibition is free, and it runs until Monday, June 30, in the National Glass Centre's glass gallery. All the work on display is for sale.

A spokeswoman said: "The Fused and Fired exhibition attracts some of the top aspiring glass-makers in the country, providing a great opportunity to spot upcoming stars and acquire their work."

The graduates exhibiting are Joanne Batchelor, Lorna Campbell, Charlotte Clarke, John Doohan, Natalie Kaye, Lorna McGinty, Kerry Ollerenshaw, Martin Philcock, Desmond Riordan, Susan Souter and Katherine Walton.
