POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a stolen car collided with a van being used to deliver milk.

The accident happened at about 2am yesterday on the junction of Keith Road and Marton Burn Road, in Middlesbrough. The Vauxhall Cavalier was stolen five minutes earlier from Devonshire Road. The thief ran away from the incident, which left the van driver suffering minor injuries. Anyone with information is asked to call (01642) 301 554.

BAND PLAYS: Huntcliff School Band will perform at Saltburn Bandstand on Saturday, from 6.30pm to 8pm. If raining, the performance will be in the Community Theatre, in Windsor Road. On Sunday, Cleveland Constabulary Band will play from 2.30pm to 4pm. If wet, the event will be in the Methodist Church Hall, in Milton Street.

DAVE SINGS: Country singer and guitarist Dave Foster will perform for the Marske and New Marske Pensioners and Friends Group on Tuesday. The event is at the Cheshire Home, Marske, from 2pm to 4pm. Tickets are £1.

CEILIDH NIGHT: A ceilidh will be held at Marske Leisure Centre on Friday, June 20, from 7.30pm to 11.30pm. The Jumping Jack Ceilidh band will provide music. Tickets are £5, available on (01287) 280335.

TRIBUTE SHOW: Bruce Springsteen tribute act Born to Run will perform at the Emporium in Stockton High Street tomorrow. Entry is free and the band will be on stage from 9pm.
