AN angry mob laid siege to the home of a teenager accused of raping a 14-year-old boy, a court was told yesterday.
Paul Thomas, 19, was arrested on suspicion of a sex attack, while his family were on holiday in Scotland.
Stephen Ashurst, defending, said that a crowd of up to 20 people went to his Billingham home and that one man punched him.
Teesside Crown Court heard that Mr Thomas earlier showed a pornographic video to a group of youngsters he had invited to the house, and had told them he was gay. Police searched the house and found the video.
The boy was staying at Mr Thomas' house overnight, and he said that Mr Thomas admitted giving him cola spiked with alcohol, said Christine Egerton, prosecuting.
The youngster said that he woke to find Mr Thomas raping him. He dressed and left, and went to a phonebox, where he rang his girlfriend's mother, before going to her home at 1am.
He told her that he had been attacked, but she smelled alcohol on his breath and she sent him home.
The next day, he made a rape complaint to his girlfriend and his older sister. Mr Thomas denied that anything happened.
Mr Thomas, of East Avenue, Billingham, pleads not guilty to rape on June 8 last year.
The case continues.
