EIGHT police officers are getting on their bikes for charity.
The Durham Constabulary officers will travel more than 280 miles over three days from Gretna Green, in Scotland, to Flint, North Wales, crossing the Pennines twice via Leyburn and Holmfirth, in Yorkshire.
The team, who start their ride tomorrow, will be raising money mainly for the Sudden Infant Death Syndrome charity.
Sergeant Stu Exley said: "This is the fifth year running that we have done a charity ride, and if we hit our target of £2,500 this year, we'll have made a total of £8,500."
The group is well on its way to reaching its target after raising £1,000 from a charity concert.
Those taking part are: Sgt Exley, Inspector Paul Harrison, PC Chris Fixter, Sergeant Ian Dickinson, Sergeant Andy Reay, Sergeant Ian Kelly, and PCs Brian George and Paul Hughes.
The support team will be Sergeant Steve Harvey and Inspector Alan Hutchinson.
