PENSIONERS in a North-East town are enjoying a better quality of life after a successful campaign to tell them about benefits.
It is less than a year since the Pensioners Benefits Take-up campaign was launched in Middlesbrough, after it was revealed hundreds missed out on cash.
Since then, more than a hundred pensioners have been helped to claim more than £100,000-a-year in previously unclaimed benefits.
Individual increases have ranged from an extra £1 a week to more than £100 in some cases. The average weekly increase has been about £15.
