Redcar lifeboat has been launched three times in four days.

The crew were last called out on Wednesday to help a yacht in distress on Saltscar Rocks. The Hartlepool yacht Merlin was dangerously close to the rocks, but a man, woman and dog aboard were able to return to Hartlepool unaided. On Sunday, the lifeboat was called to take part in a search of the shoreline between Saltburn and Skinningrove for a missing female tourist. Her mobile phone was found on the beach, but the 57-year-old woman was found at her niece's house. On Tuesday, the lifeboat was launched for what turned out to be a discarded children's dingy. Dave Cammish, of Redcar lifeboat, appealed to the public to report unmanned inflatables being blown out to sea.
