A FLORAL tribute to mark the 300th anniversary of the birth of John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, takes place later this month.
The Methodist Church in Consett, will be the venue for a fantastic flower festival entitled The World is My Parish.
The superintendent minister, the Rev Stephen Dallin, will preside over the opening service on Friday, June 27, at 7.15pm, when the congregation will share in a birthday cake and listen to the Methodist Brampton Choir. On Saturday, June 28, there will be a coffee morning, from 10am to 11.30am, followed by lunches and afternoon teas.
The flowers will be on display from 10am to 4.30pm.
The festival comes to a close on Sunday, June 29, with a family service at 10.30am, afternoon teas and a Wesley Songs of Praise Service at 6pm.
