A TEENAGER who went to sleep on a sofa woke in the early hours to find that someone had sexually assaulted her, a court was told yesterday.
The 15-year-old babysitter's clothes had been disturbed, said Ian Skelt, prosecuting.
Police traced other people who were in the house in Middlesbrough house and eventually arrested Barry Johnson, 23, after a DNA tests, Teesside Crown Court heard.
Ian West, defending, said: "It was an opportunistic offence and he was drunk."
Johnson, of Arncliffe Road, Middlesbrough, was given a two-year Community Rehabilitation Order with a condition of attending the Sex Offender's Programme after he pleaded guilty to the indecent assault on June 1 last year. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender for five years.
