A FAST-FOOD restaurant is continuing its links with a nearby primary school by organising a clean-up of the grounds.
Staff from the McDonald's restaurant at Thinford, near Spennymoor, will be joining children to tidy-up Chilton Primary School on Monday.
The staff are building up a strong association with the school. Previous support has included giving out meal vouchers and taking part in a drive-through challenge, which raised £400 for school funds.
Dave Wallace, headteacher at Chilton, said: "Some of their staff are coming down to our school and will be joining our staff and a select group of children to clean up the grounds. That ties in with what we do anyway, but this will give it a boost."
The event is part of the restaurant's biggest ever anti-littering campaign, with more than 800 around the country, including Thinford, working with their local communities throughout June to help clean up their areas.
Restaurant manager Lorraine Thom said: "Staff at McDonald's are working closely with Chilton Primary School to collect litter and make a real difference to the area surrounding the school."
People participating in the event can win prizes.
