DETECTIVES were last night questioning a man on suspicion of attacking a father who has been left with severe head injuries.
Mark Connorton, 37, of Marske, is in a critical condition in Middlesbrough General Hospital and has been unconscious since he found on a Redcar street at 3am on Sunday.
Police arrested a 37-year-old on suspicion of wounding Mr Connorton with intent.
The suspect was last night being held in Redcar Police Station and was helping detectives with their inquiries.
Mr Connorton, a divorced father-of-one, was found in King Street, Redcar.
