A WEBSITE covering all aspects of crime and safety in Darlington is launched today.
The site -www.darlingtoncommunitysafety.org.uk - is designed to help residents step up security in their homes and find out more about policing in the town.
It is a joint venture between Durham Constabulary and Darlington Borough Council, and is a revamped version of an earlier site.
Sergeant Paul Robinson, of Darlington police's community safety unit, said the new site was more interactive.
"What we have done is totally revamp the site," he said.
"It now provides a lot more advice and is linked up with many more agencies which work with the police on crime.
"It should help people to delve a bit further into different areas relating to policing. It is still being developed and more will be put on there."
The site includes an online quiz where residents can find out if their homes are secure against crime.
If they achieve a low score they can fill in an online form and a community safety officer will contact them to give advice.
Site designer John Keeble said: "The site is designed to be user friendly with lots of opportunities for people to give us feedback on what they think."
Topics covered on the site include youth offending, wardens, Neighbourhood Watch and drug and alcohol abuse
