STARS of the West End and businesses from the Northallerton area have helped ensure an auction in the North Yorkshire town next month will be a success.
Tickets to see Cleo Laine and John Dankworth at the Harrogate International Festival on Friday, July 18, with a backstage pass to meet them after the show, are up for grabs.
Actor Stephen Fry has also donated copies of a recorded version of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, while Countdown presenter Richard Whiteley has given a colourful tie he has worn on the programme.
Auf Wiedersehen Pet's Tim Healey has donated a signed script from the series.
Lots given by local firms include a £25 voucher to spend in Sam Turners, a meal for two at the Cleveland Tontine, donated by car dealer Simon Bailes, and a round of golf for four at Romanby Golf Club.
Northallerton Amateur Operatic Society has organised the auction, which will be held at the town hall on Wednesday, July 2, at 7.30pm.
Proceeds will help fund the autumn production of Hello Dolly at Hambleton Forum.
