CHILDREN made a whistle-stop tour of some exotic parts of the world in a day.
The youngsters from Oxclose Nursery School, Spennymoor, visited America, India, China and Africa on their bikes. They also pedalled through the Netherlands, Spain and Greece. The sponsored bike ride was held in the school's nursery garden, where each area was given a different international theme.
The money raised will be used for an "around the world" topic, for which children will visit Durham Oriental Museum and the King Neptune Restaurant in Newcastle. Later this term it is hoped an African drum group and a Chinese storyteller will visit the nursery to work with the children.
Headteacher Margaret Dineley said: "Staff, parents and children all excelled themselves and made it a wonderful day."
