POLICE have arrested a man in connection with a road crash that killed a great-grandmother and seriously injured her son and daughter-in-law.
Dominic Gavin Huggett, 34, attended Stockton police station, Teesside, with his solicitor following an appeal for him to come forward.
Police believe he may hold vital clues into the car crash that killed Betty Cooper, 87, last week.
Mr Huggett, from Thornaby, was arrested and was being questioned by detectives last night.
An Ascot Green BMW convertible thought to have been involved in the incident has not been found.
Mrs Cooper died after the collision in Westbury Street, Thornaby, which happened as her son Barry, and his wife, Patricia, helped her into a taxi following a party to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary.
