The first UK pregnancy from an embryo screened using a new IVF technique which can spot abnorm-alities within a single cell was announced yesterday.
The breakthrough is set to benefit women aged over 36, those who have suffered recurrent miscarriages and those whose embryos have repeatedly failed to implant in the womb.
The Care group at the Park Hospital, Nottingham, said yesterday it had achieved its first confirmed pregnancy following the method called aneuploidy screening.
