French police were in the Western Islands, Scotland, yesterday to solve the mystery of what happened to a family who set sail aboard a yacht from St Malo, France, three years ago never to be seen again.
French authorities searching for doctor Yves Godard suspect him of killing his wife, Marie-France Legreverend, and dumping her in the English Channel, although her body has never been found.
But the skull of his daughter, Camille, was recovered from the sea in June 2000. There has been no sign of his son, Marius, who had also been on board the family yacht.
Two French officers were in Stornaway yesterday, following up information in two anyonymous letters that the French doctor had been spotted there.
Northern Constabulary will be helping French police with their inquiries over the next ten days in and around the islands.
