A SERVICE to recognise and give thanks for the achievements of a former headteacher, who died in April, is to be held at a Darlington school next week.
The tribute to Helen Hamilton, who worked for 20 years at Polam Hall School for Girls will take place on Friday, June 27, from 3pm to 4pm, in the school's Liddiard Theatre.
Old scholars are invited to join present members of the school in the tribute. Anyone wishing to attend is asked to contact the school office on (01325) 463383.
Bill Goyder, chairman of governors at the school, said: "Mrs Hamilton made a vast impact at Polam Hall School and acted as a friend and mentor to many.
"Our tribute will present us with the opportunity to honour her successes and take pride in her achievements."
