CHILDREN are being introduced to the wonders of the insect world by a ladybird.
Lucinda Ladybird, alias Middlesbrough wildspace officer Sue Antrobus, is visiting nature reserves to foster an understanding of insects and their role in the eco-system.
She said: "We thought Lucinda Ladybird could help other mini-beasts by doing a public relations job for them, to let people know that insects and other creepy crawlies are all quite interesting, really.''
The ladybird will visit Linthorpe Cemetery on Sunday, Lingfield Countryside Centre, Coulby Newham and Stainton Village Memorial Hall on July 12, and Berwick Hills Community Park on August 9.
