A TIMETABLE has been agreed for consultation on the future of Leyburn's road network.
North Yorkshire County Council has set aside £25,000 to cover the cost of research into the public's views on how traffic flow around the town could be improved.
At a meeting in Middleham, members of the authority's Richmondshire area committee sanctioned the way ahead.
The county council will now meet officers from Richmondshire District Council to work out which Leyburn organisations should be involved in putting together the prime objectives.
A workshop will follow in Leyburn next month with surveys of the public planned in August and an exhibition of any proposals pencilled in for January next year.
The council has already set aside £100,000 to help cover the cost of the first phase of proposals which evolve from the consultation process and, if all goes to plan, work could start in spring next year.
