ORGANISERS of this year's Great Aycliffe Show say they have lined up a weekend of fun for all the family.

The 22nd annual show will be held on June 21 and 22, from 11am to 5pm both days.

Competitions include handcraft exhibition, a five-a-side football tournament, whippet racing and a rabbit and cavey show, which has been extended this year.

Entertainment in the main arena will feature Skyshaw Aerobatics, featuring a Pitts Special Biplane, and Tom and Tilly Turnip's Tomfoolery, whose comedy show includes a madcap clown's tea party and a flying Reliant Robin.

Rodeo Dave will present a western trick horse riding act and Moto-Stunts International features trick and formation riding by a six man team.

Aycliffe and Brancepeth Band, The Royal British Legion Pipe and Drums and 102 Battalion Reme will provide music.

Activities around the arena include a giant crazy cottage, karting, Punch and Judy and face-painting.

Compere and solo artist, Joe Armstrong will present bands including Unlearn, Astoma, Band of Mojos, TRC, Kindle and Epicentre in the playhouse marquee, which also has performances by dancers and singers.
