A COUNCIL is to give its residents the chance to have a say in what council housing could be like in the future.
As part of proposed plans to set up a new arms-length organisation to manage Gateshead Borough Council housing, tenants are being asked to join a board, which would control the day-to-day operation of the proposed organisation if it goes ahead.
The move is the latest stage of a major consultation exercise started last year by Gateshead council, which aims to involve every one of its 24,000 council tenants and leaseholders in the borough.
