A LORRY driver was abducted and his lorry-load of sweets and chocolate hijacked in a late-night attack.
The articulated lorry, from York, was carrying thousands of pounds worth of Kit-Kats, Quality Street and chocolate bars when it was stopped on the A1041 near Selby, North Yorkshire, on Wednesday.
The driver, 30, from York, was bundled into the back of his cab by at least three masked men who drove on to the M62. It broke down in West Yorkshire and the thieves stole another tractor unit.
The lorry driver, who was was pushed out on to the M62 near Warrington, was shaken but unhurt. Two men were arrested in Skelmersdale, but the trailer is still missing.
