YOUNG people will be taught cookery basics after a workshop received funding from the National Lottery.
The Hands on Cookery Workshop, in Durham, has been given £4,567 from the Awards for All programme.
It will allow the group to run a free 14-week pilot project to teach youngsters to cook affordable, healthy food.
Principal Lorna Prasad said: "We are delighted with this award, which will enable us to help many local young people learn this important life skill and achieve greater independence.
