MORE than 1,800 east Cleveland schoolchildren are to take part in a Cleveland Police Crucial Crew project about how to avoid danger.
The project, also organised by Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, schools and other community organisations, is targeted at ten and 11-year-olds at 50 primary schools.
The children will learn how to deal with hazardous situations from chip shop fires to road accidents through role play.
The ninth Crucial Crew event starts on Monday and finishes on Friday, July 4.
Different scenarios will be set up by the Coastguard, Railtrack, Northern Electric, Arriva buses, the Fire Brigade and the Lifesaving Society.
