PARACHUTING displays, martial arts routines and performing bands all made for another successful open day at the largest Army base in Europe.
Scores of people arrived at Catterick Garrison, in North Yorkshire, on Saturday, to join in the fun at the Army open day.
The Royal Signals Motorcycle Display Team, acknowledged as the oldest and best-known in the world, wowed the crowds with its two demonstrations.
Meanwhile, the highlight of the show was a terrifying display of freefall parachuting by soldiers from the 4th Battalion, The Parachute Regiment.
Visitors were not left disappointed, as the Army hosted an array of military demonstrations, stands, entertainment and performances throughout the day.
Despite heavy operational commitments in Iraq, the Army base still staged an impressive open day, which helped to raise money for the Army and local charities.
Colonel Jonny Hackett, commander at Catterick Garrison, said: "The military displays, fun fair, refreshments and trade stands provided a memorable day out for the whole family."
