ONE of radio's hardy perennials will be in Chester-le-Street next week.
BBC Radio 4's Gardeners' Question Time will be recorded from Durham County Cricket Club's Riverside Stadium on Monday.
The show first took to the airwaves in 1947 and is one of the world's most enduring radio programmes.
On Monday, people in the Chester-le-Street area will have a chance to put their queries to its panel of experts, organic gardener Bob Flowerdew, landscape gardener John Cushnie and Roy Lancaster.
The programme makers hope to include some questions recorded in the gardens of residents near the Riverside Stadium and surrounding Chester-le-Street area.
If you live in Chester-le-Street and are keen to get involved, contact the programme's assistant producer, Jo King, on (01608) 677777.
Volunteers will need to be available on Monday afternoon, as their questions are pre-recorded in their gardens prior to the evening of the show.
Doors will open to people armed with their questions at 6pm and recording for the programme begins at 6.45pm.
The show will be broadcast on Sunday, July 13 and again on Sunday, August 17. The programme starts at 2pm on both Sundays.
