A PLAYSCHEME for disabled children, which was saved from closure last year, is seeking volunteers for its holiday scheme.
Darlington Association on Disability runs playschemes for disabled childrenthrough its Darlington After School and Holiday (Dash) project.
Last year, the Dash project was threatened when it lost charity funding. Parents and volunteers were angry that the project, which helps hundreds of youngsters, would have to shut and an appeal was issued.
Donations soon flooded in and enough money was raised to ensure the scheme could continue. This summer, Dash hopes to provide play sessions for 215 children from Monday, July 21, to Friday, August 15, but needs volunteers to organise activities.
Spokeswoman for Dash, Stacey Allan, said: "We are looking for volunteers who are able to help from one day to 20 days."
