A VILLAGE school has unveiled a logo and a name change to celebrate its status as a specialist college.
Hurworth Comprehensive School, near Darlington, gained specialist status in mathematics and computing earlier this year after a long fundraising campaign.
From September, the school will be known as Hurworth School Maths and Computing College.
Head of art Angela Faunch asked year eight pupils to design a new logo.
Staff judged the entries and voted on the one they liked the best, which was designed by 13-year-old Rohanna Aston.
Rohanna then got to work on her idea and the final design, featuring a square root sign and computer symbols, took shape.
The new design will be used on all the school's letterheads and will also be included in the school uniform badge.
