MORE than 400 walkers gathered to raise money for a school garden in memory of a teenager.
Pupils and staff at Wolsingham School and Community College have set aside a plot near their sixth form block as a memorial to Suzie Preen.
The 18-year-old, from High Grange, was killed in a car accident two years ago, shortly after completing her A-Level examinations.
A five-mile sponsored walk from the school to Tunstall Reservoir and back will help meet the £11,000 costs of "Suzie's Garden".
Headteacher Mitch O'Reilly said: "Suzie's death was a very stressful and traumatic time for everyone at the school and it is important that we remember her.
"Not only was she a popular person in her year group, but she worked with younger children in the school."
