EXPANSION is on the menu for the owner of a restaurant who has extended the services offered by her business.

June Milner's achievement in taking over and expanding her business, Belasis Bistro, in the Belasis Business Centre, led to her being named Juggler of the Year at the Women in Business Awards 2003.

Ms Milner, a single parent with four children, has more than 20 years' catering experience.

Four years ago, she decided to become her own boss but did not have a viable business plan at the time.

She gained invaluable experience while managing the Bistro for its owners in January 2000 while working as the chef.

Ms Milner took over in October 2001 and within the first ten months of trading she had reached her projected turnover and in the first six months of the second year increased it by 35 per cent.

Andrea Miles, of Business Link, has helped Ms Milner in a number of areas to enable her to manage and expand the business.
